The Guernsey Junior Fishing League began the way most good ideas do — with a few friends heading down to the coast, comparing catches, and wondering who'd landed the biggest fish that weekend. Word spread from friend to friend, and what started as a small group has grown into an island-wide league of young anglers.
Every competition is entirely free to enter and run by the juniors themselves — no adults calling the shots, just young anglers organising fair, friendly competition for their own community. Whether you're chasing a personal best or just want an excuse to get outdoors with your mates, there's a place for you on the rocks.

The Guernsey Junior Fishing League is always looking for sponsors. Every pound raised through sponsorship and donations is reinvested straight back into the league — most of it goes towards prizes for our members.
Prizes aren't only awarded to whoever catches the biggest or best fish. We also recognise members who show enthusiasm, commitment, great participation, and a positive attitude — because that's what keeps this league going.
We're always looking for donated rods, reels, and fishing tackle. Every piece of kit donated helps support the Rod Loan Scheme at Micks, which lets junior anglers borrow equipment and get involved in fishing even if they don't own their own gear.
